Celebrate 30 Years of the ADA

thanks ADA for 30 years

On July 26th, the Americans with Disabilities Act or the ADA will turn 30!  I’ve worked in Human Resources for about that long, so I’ve seen many advances in those 3 decades.  Most public buildings are now accessible, as are a majority of public transportation.  Closed captions, transcriptions and assisted listening devices are now commonplace.  While this is all great, we still have lots of work to do to make sure that all people have equal access to jobs, housing, healthcare, the internet, and more.

If you’ve benefited from the ADA, post to your social media of choice with the hashtag #ThankstotheADA or #ADA30.  Even if you haven’t been personally affected by the ADA, post photos or videos of public places that are accessible with the hashtags.  The more the merrier!

The Americans with Disability Act works to increase diversity and inclusion, which benefits us all.  If you own a website that is not ADA compliant, we can help.  Your content should be accessible with alternative text, captions, transcriptions and more.  Contact us for 30% off website compliance through the end of July as we help the ADA celebrate 30 years of making us stronger.
